SWWEPP Wills & Estate Planning Certificate Course

The SWWEPP Wills and Estate Planning Certificate course is now in its 27th successful year, and year on year, more students are signing up to this course as a ‘fast-track’ entry into Estate Planning profession as well as membership to the Society of Will Writers. The course is continually developed by the College Tutors to maintain itself as the most effective introduction to estate planning.

Through this course you will learn that only by taking good clear instructions can you ever hope to produce a clear and unambiguous Will that reflects the client’s wishes. It will also give you a good grounding on trusts, especially the basic trusts in use today in most Wills, nil rate band discretionary trusts, IOU trusts and property trusts among others. For the full syllabus, please see the attached PDF below.

The fee for the course covers all four days, all refreshments and lunches as well as notes and the exam.  It does not cover accommodation.

An examination follows the course in the form of an open book exam and can be taken at a time and place of your choosing (office hours only). This exam is sent to you via email and you have 3 hours to complete and return it for marking. It gets sent away to an external examiner and your result will then be emailed to you once it comes back.  We say to allow at least 3 weeks but it does depend on the examiner’s workload.  Full instructions for sitting the exam will be given during the course.

Please note there is no formal qualification with this course, but on completion of the course and passing the exam you will get a Certificate of Achievement.

*THIS COURSE RELATES TO THE LAW AS IT APPLIES IN ENGLAND AND WALES AND DOES NOT COVER SCOTTISH LAW*
