Estate Planning for Cohabitants

This month’s paper will look at will drafting challenges for cohabitants. We will aim to examine what makes will drafting more complex for non-traditional or blended family structures, why these issues arise, and what key legal and practical points advisers should consider when advising the modern family.

For the avoidance of doubt references to “cohabitants” in this paper means couples, either opposite-sex or same-sex, who live together and are in a relationship without being married or civil partners. References to “spouses” shall also include civil partners.
